As human beings, we are constantly tethering our identities to our success. We are always trying to prove ourselves. This drive invades our families, our work space, our schools, our hobbies - even our churches. But this idolatry, this need to succeed, forgets one core truth: God is gracious, so you don't need to prove yourself!
